Biography of Henry II (1133-1189), who was King of England between 1154 and 1189. He was of the House of Plantagenet, and encountered oppo- sition within England because of this. He expanded English territory on the continent (chiefly Normandy and Angevin), and tried three time unsuccessfully to conquer Ireland.
